Powerplay

Powerplay are overs where batsmen get an advantage to hit for more runs because there are only two fielders outside the 30- yard circle. These are good overs to hit sixes and fours and you have less chance of getting out for long shots. It was introduced in 1980-81 in Australia. In powerplay, captains must make sure there are players in close catching positions to add pressure on the batsmen.
